Art BLAST with Tom Duffy

3rd and 4th Class, 5th and 6th Class have had the fantastic opportunity to work with an artist over the past few months.

Tom Duffy is a visual artist and musician, and he brought a multi-disciplinary approach to our classes, using games, play and story to stir imaginations and promote groupwork.

Circle games and percussion games were great fun each week.

Story telling was approached using picture cards, collaborative story - telling and circle story-telling. The pupils all imagined and created characters, on paper and in clay.

For the last two sessions with Tom, the classes created new characters from clay. These were painted and decorated. Tom had many examples of clay creatures/ characters to show and inspire.

Art BLAST was a real hit this year. Thanks to Tom for energising our classes, for encouraging each and every pupil in their work and play, and for bringing all his expertise and advice to the classes, too.
