Congratulations to the school debating team from 6th class, who under the guidance of Mrs Walshe, reached the FINAL of Concern Debates in Kilkenny Education Centre.
The girls had been working extremely hard throughout the competition.
These are some of the motions the girls had to argue:
‘School uniforms should be a thing of the past’.
‘All schools should be Gaelscoileanna’.
‘Fines should be implemented for households wasting food’.
‘The voting age should be lowered to 16 in ROI/NI’.
‘If we really care about climate change, we should all fly less’.
The speakers on the team were Rachel, Eva and Farrah. The Chairperson, Time-Keeper and Sub were Katie, Ríonach and Ellie - Mae.
Reaching the final of Concern Debates is a wonderful achievement and a testament to their hard work and dedication of the pupils and their teacher.
Thanks to the Education Centre for hosting the debates.
5th and 6th class made the journey into the Centre to support the team on the day. Well done to Newtown Dunleckney N.S. who won the debate.
