Cycle Right Lessons - Venturing Beyond the School Gate!

The pupils of 5th and 6th class have been learning about cycling safety through active lessons over the past 4 weeks.

The girls have been cycling on specially organised routes in our yard, and were ready to bring the skills they've learned out to the roads of Castlecomer.

Jim and Jason from South East Cycling ensured that all pupils had helmets and hi-vis vests on before setting off.

Skills like LILT (Look, Indicate, Look, Turn), LORS (Look Over Right Shoulder), stopping safely, as well as getting on the bike correctly, and communicating with the cycling group were all put to the test.

The pupils will write their own blog post about their cycling safety lessons here very soon. Watch this space!
