For the past few months, pupils have been learning about how diverse our school population is.
We have learned that there are pupils in our school who have connections with Poland, Philippines, India, Ukraine, Syria, Canada, France, Lithuania, Spain and England.
Pupils from 2nd to 6th class worked on projects/ profiles of these countries, studying maps, flags, culture and games.
We then focused on playground games from these countries.
This was fun, and it meant that Ms McGrath's class demonstrated games they had learned, with Mrs Keogh/ Ms Treacy's class, and vice versa!
Similarly, girls from Mrs Kenny's class swapped games with Ms Sharkey's class.
We were lucky that the weather was fine and we could play our games outside.
Pupils from ALL classes wrote or drew about their favourite games.
We made some artwork based on the national flowers from each of the countries we studied.
Mrs C. Kenny's cookery class made some delicious, traditional Syrian dishes.
On the day of the seminar at the Lyrath Convention Centre, ten representatives from 2nd - 6th class spoke about our project with other schools.
All schools taking part in the project were presentation schools. Some schools were primary and some were secondary.
Check out our photos from the project, below.
